Dr Sharon Daniels BDS (UMDS) - Principal Dental Surgeon
Sharon qualified at Guys Hospital Dental School in 1992. It was here that she developed an interest in both cosmetic dentistry and sedation techniques, having worked regularly in the Guy’s dedicated sedation unit during her undergraduate training.
She undertook voluntary Vocational Training in an independent sedation practice in Kent for a year, before moving to Essex to join a private practice specialising in high quality dentistry for the whole family.
Having met her husband to be, she followed him to his home of Devon, joining 2 well established and well-reputed private practices in Honiton and Exeter. She stayed there for 8 years and built up a reputation for gentle, caring dentistry, before setting up Smile in 2002.
Throughout this time she remained dedicated to post graduate education in all aspects of dentistry, having listened to the best speakers from all over the world. She attended international restorative and implant conferences for Astra Tech and ADI, has done further training in hypnosis, and sedation techniques under Bristol university open learning and SAAD, and has qualified in Botulinium toxin and dermal fillers for facial aesthetics.
Her special interests remain the management of anxious patients using sedation techniques and by being generally very calming and gentle in her approach; cosmetic dentistry; the restoration of dental implants (working alongside her surgeon husband); facial aesthetics, and the running of Smile!
Outside of work, Sharon is a busy mum of two young children. She loves baking, cake decorating, all arts and crafts, loves the cinema and live music, and is a keen runner, completing regular half marathons. She likes to snow ski and water ski when she gets chance, and is qualified in powerboat handling. Most of all, she is dedicated to her family and frequently hosts big family get–togethers!
